It’s hard to believe that the first week of the 2015 Collaboration with the Greene County Department of Parks and Recreation is over already!
Light Beautiful Light! In Week One campers learned about the properties of light. Instructors Paige Tibbe and Alexandra Johnson introduced the properties of stained glass and engaged the campers in the concept of how light behaves as it is filtered and blended through colored glass. They then reinforced this concept by having the camp students work collaboratively to create their own version of a stained glass window with colored bits of tissue paper and waxed paper.
Board member Dan Flickinger visited us for the week and volunteered his time to provided his “Hillbilly Spin Art”, giving campers the opportunity to see first hand how colors blend on paper in his modified, recycled washing machine. Work from this and all sessions will be displayed in a public exibition graciously held at the Community Foundation of Greene County; date and time to be announced shortly!
